Our band includes squeezeboxes, fiddle and a drum, with occasional concertina, recorders, flutes and tambourines thrown in for good measure! Although Mayflower is a ladies’ North West clog Morris dancing side, the band consists of both men and women.

There’s no limit to the size of the band – often in the North West tradition a town band would have been used to accompany the dancing. Most acoustic instruments work well, and we would particularly welcome bass instruments like trombones, tubas or euphoniums, so if you’re a reasonably competent musician who can play by ear and would like to perform a wide selection of rousing polkas, jigs and reels, please get in touch!
