The Mayflower dance style originates in the mill towns of Lancashire. The traditional North West women’s costume is a pinafore dress with white petticoats and clogs. We don’t use the long sticks most people expect to see morris dancers wielding, or hankies, instead we dance with garlands, slings, bobbins and short sticks with bells and ribbons attached.
